bdht, Bromsgrove’s largest provider of affordable housing, continues to grow in strength and skills after promoting three internal candidates, freeing up positions for local job seekers.

Emma Morris has been working at bdht for 11 years and has recently been promoted from Senior HR Advisor to HR Manager. She said: “I love working at bdht. We have a great team of enthusiastic people and a lovely atmosphere to come into each day and I’m delighted to have been promoted to HR Manager.”

Matt Fenton joined bdht one year ago as a Roofing Operative and has now been promoted to Responsive Repairs Team Leader, where he will oversee his fellow roofers and the Larger Works Team, diagnose roofing maintenance repairs and ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently.

Lee Pitchford joined bdht’s Communities Team a year ago and has impressed senior staff with his excellent customer service skills and focus on the local community. After a successful application he has been promoted to Customer Liaison Officer.

Mike Brown, chief executive at bdht said: “We always want to find the right person for each role and we’re delighted that all three of these candidates were keen to apply from within the company. This allows us to grow our expertise with staff who are extremely knowledgeable and experienced, but it also frees up new roles for external job seekers to apply for.”

bdht is now looking for a Customer First Advisor and Communities First Officer. Full details and an application form for each job can be found on the bdht careers website and applications close on Friday 7th April. Anyone interested in the roles should visit https://bdhtcareers.co.uk/

bdht is one of the largest employers in Bromsgrove, with 130 staff based out of its head office at Buntsford Court. Last year bdht was named by Great Place to Work® as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces, coming 7th in the Medium category (organisations with 50-499 employees). The company also scooped the Employer of the Year award at the annual Business Masters Awards in Birmingham. Competing against five other nominees, bdht was delighted to take home the award in recognition of having a high trust, high engagement workplace culture.

At the time Alex Turner, editor of TheBusinessDesk.com, said: “The judges were unanimous in their choice in this category because of bdht’s obvious and genuine commitment to their staff.”

Mike Brown said: “We take employee satisfaction very seriously, not just in a monetary sense but we look at their happiness, welfare and general wellbeing. I honestly couldn’t be more proud of each and every one working for bdht as I’m sure they would all agree when I say that you cannot be the Employer of the Year without great employees!”
