bdht staff are always eager to support both local and national charities through fundraising opportunities and, since the company was formed in 2004, it has raised a massive £21,370 for charities including Macmillan Cancer Support, Help for Heroes and Blue Cross Bromsgrove.
Mike Brown, chief executive, explains: “We’ve been raising money for local and national charities for the last 12 years and have been aiming for the £20,000 mark which we’re delighted to have smashed at the end of last year. All of our staff are justifiably feeling extremely proud. Fundraising is always a company-wide focus and a big part of our ethos with charities chosen via an internal poll each year.
In 2016, bdht staff upped the ante and raised their biggest annual haul yet, £2,358, which was divided between the Stroke Association, Cancer Research UK, Children in Need, St Basils and Alzheimer’s Society.
Plans are already in place for this year’s fundraising capers, with staff preparing to don fancy dress costumes, bake cakes, pound the pavements in fun runs and hold a family fun day in support of 2017’s chosen charities: St Basils, Cancer Research UK, Make A Wish Foundation, SUDEP (Sudden Death in Epilepsy) and New Starts (Bromsgrove).
Mike concludes: “We’re hoping to raise even more money this year and aim to reach £2,500 by the end of 2017 for these very worthwhile charities.”
